WHAT PAT DOES?
We are a group of socially conscious people from different social and economic background founded PAT on 2nd May 1997 as a Social service organization and registered it under Indian Trust Act of 1882. To comply with other legal obligations, it is registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) to receive foreign grants.
We work to bring change in the outlook of the poor, underprivileged and marginalized section of population to understand themselves, their society, their political and economic system, the educational need and pursuit and their rights and privileges and help them break the hurdles in their way to climb up the social and economic ladder using local resources. This is an empowerment process to effect social transformation.
PAT started its operations with Children's Development programme in Trichy during 1997 with the support from Rotary International and ASHA for Education of USA & Canada and later forayed into women's empowerment programme, educational programme for the children, vocational training pogramme, health camps.
Our focus of population includes poor, vulnerable and underprivileged children, women, unemployed youth, farmers, persons with disability living both in rural and urban areas.
